Crews achieve full containment on grass fire near Hayes
The Four Corner Fire burned in tall grass near Hayes in Stanley County, west of Pierre. Local county responders stopped forward progress and secured full containment over the last 72 hours. The fire no longer threatens residents or property in the area.

Impact
Smoke plumes drifted eastward across central South Dakota during the fire's initial activity. No damage to structures, utilities, or injuries have been reported.
