Crews halt forward spread and fully contain the fire
The Elm Creek Fire is located east of Mart along County Road 334 in Limestone County, where it ignited in dry grass and brush. Texas A&M Forest Service and regional mutual aid departments stopped the fire's forward progress and secured the entire perimeter. Lines are holding firmly, and the fire poses no threat to nearby communities.
