• November 7: The Pacific Crest Trail remains closed along Agnes Creek between High Bridge and the Glacier Peak Wilderness boundary.

Rain transitions to heavy mountain snow with gusty west-northwest winds before shifting to cooler, persistently wet weather and high humidity. The precipitation will help moderate fire behavior, though sheltered fuels beneath the timber canopy may continue creeping and smoldering. Crews continue pursuing a full-suppression strategy to confine the perimeter to its current footprint while minimizing hazards to responders.

Cause and Context

The fire was started by lightning on August 14, 2026, in steep wilderness terrain. Early initial attack efforts were halted when severe rolling debris and tree torching made direct engagement unsafe for crews.
