All evacuation warnings lifted as crews reach full containment east of Ten Sleep
The fire is burning east of Ten Sleep in Washakie County, south of Ten Sleep Canyon near County Road 56. Crews halted perimeter growth and secured lines along the northern and eastern flanks over the past three days. The incident is fully contained, with minimal smoldering and creeping confined well inside containment lines and no threat to nearby communities.
Evacuations and Closures
- All evacuation warnings lifted for Zone 11, Zone 9, and Zone 10 (September 25).
- No road closures in effect, including Rome Hill Road, though the public is asked to avoid Smilo Road and Sand Draw (September 25).
Conditions and Outlook
Breezy south-southeasterly winds are forecast to ease over the coming days, accompanied by increasing cloud cover, higher humidity, and a slight chance of light drizzle. Fire activity is expected to remain minimal as containment lines hold. Firefighters are focusing on mop-up, patrolling the perimeter, and securing interior smoldering fuels.
