PK Fire Report — October 11, 2026

Firefighters encircle perimeter as evacuation warnings downgrade to Ready status

The fire is burning southwest of Beckton Road and PK Lane in Sheridan County. After making aggressive runs toward PK Lane and flaring up overnight, the fire was encircled by containment lines built by countywide mutual aid crews and heavy equipment. Fire behavior has moderated and lines are holding, though nearby areas remain on advisory status and Beckton Road remains closed to non-emergency traffic.

Evacuations and Closures

  • Zones DAY-06, BECK-04, BECK, and BECK-03 remain in READY status, downgraded from SET on October 10.
  • Beckton Road is closed between Soldier Creek Road and Big Goose Road (Highway 331) for emergency response access as of October 10.
  • Evacuation warnings were lifted to No Status for zones DAY-03, BECK-01, BECK-02, and BH-07 on October 10.
  • Camper and RV parking is available at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds and the Ranchester baseball field, with shower access at the Sheridan County YMCA, opened October 10.
  • Emergency livestock sheltering is available at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds and Sheridan College AgriPark as of October 10.

Conditions and Outlook

Rain and high humidity are expected over the coming days, with winds shifting from the south-southeast to the north-northwest before easing by midweek. Cool conditions, fog, and persistent precipitation chances will keep fire activity subdued across the brush fuels. Crews will use the damp weather to reinforce completed perimeter lines, mop up interior hot spots, and patrol the fire edge.

Official updates current through October 11, 2026.
